Health Care Assistant/ Nursing Course (HCAC)

The Health Care Assistant/Nursing course is designed to prepare compassionate and competent individuals to support patients and healthcare teams in a variety of care settings. This program focuses on developing the foundational knowledge, practical skills, and ethical values necessary for providing high-quality, person-centered care.

As a health care assistant or nursing student, you will learn how to assist patients with daily activities, monitor their health, and support their emotional and physical well-being. The course will also teach you how to work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

What you'll study

  • Collaborate in an interactive classroom of up to 20 students.
  • Fundamentals of patient care,  including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
  • Anatomy and physiology for understanding basic human health.
  • Infection control and workplace safety practice.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Supporting patients with chronic conditions, disabilities, and mental health challenges.
  • Understanding ethical and legal responsibilities in healthcare.
  • Series of workshops and conferences taught in groups of up to twenty in several areas.
  • Access to YFH’s Apprenticeship Programme to help you to start earning once you have successfully completed the Health Care/ Nursing course.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for our health care assistant/ nursing course are as follows:  

  • High School Diploma or Mature Student
  • Fluency  in English 
  • Receipt  of a satisfactory reference 

English language requirements
