Farming Project "From Farm to Plate".
Karen began her career in Practical Nursing at St. Ann’s Bay School of First Aid and Nursing, an extension of St. Johns’ Ambulance Association.
She then attended The Catholic College of Mandeville, where she pursued a career in education as a primary schoolteacher. While there, she also completed other courses in Guidance and Counseling and Information Technology.
Karen is a firm believer in life-long learning. As such, she pursued professional development courses at Northern Caribbean University and The University of the West Indies. She later enrolled at The International University of the Caribbean, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Driven by her belief that the sky is the limit, Karen successfully completed a Masters of Education degree at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, USA.
Remaining true to her passion for continuous growth, Karen decided to elevate her career further and is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership at The Northern Caribbean University. With this degree, she hopes to contribute to society and the world at large in a more meaningful way, embodying the change she wishes to see in the world today.
Community Engagement and Mentorship
Her love for young people has led her to work with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, facilitating youth-at-risk programs, and with the National Youth Service, guiding business administration day camp learners.
Despite her unique background and demanding schedule, Karen always remembers to put God first in all she does. She serves as a missionary and Youth Leader at her church. Her life themes are “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” and “For what I know about God, I can trust Him for what I do not know.”
Interests
Karen’s hobbies include reading health lifestyle literature and engaging in community service through his local community center.

Karen is committed to advancing Youth Fields of Hope’s mission and improving the quality of life for youths across the Caribbean.
